During the school holidays, our club will have training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All players under 14 will train from 5:45 to 6:45. Older players will train from 7 to 8.
We are back to training under Level 2, with a few adjustments and exceptions.
The central dojo class times are as usual. No parents allowed inside during training to limit the numbers. Nobody should be training if unwell. Classes starting at 5 and 6 pm, will finish 15 minutes earlier than usual, to limit contact during the change-over.
Sherwood school class at normal times. Glamorgan school class not happening at school this week. Stanmore Bay school class split in two groups. Parents to be advised of changes by email.
Good to be back.
Sadly, the South Island Championships in Christchurch had just become another COVID-19 victim. It was cancelled by the organisers. Good luck with getting your credits granted by the airlines. Sad times indeed.

If all goes to plan, we can assume with Judo Classes on Monday 31 August, with physical distancing regimes. To catch up on lost classes, there will be sessions on offer at the Central Training Centre in NorthCross during the school holidays. Details of that to be published later.
This event is another possible victim of COVID-19. Let’s hope it can go ahead as we have about 30 people booked and ready to compete in Christchurch.
It is almost here – the first competition after the COVID-19 lockdown. On Sunday 26 July, there is a competition for all players under 15 years of age. The event is held at Forrest Hill Primary School.
Weigh in is 10:00 to 10:30 for all under 11’s.
Weigh in is 11: to 11:30 for all others.
Entry fee is $ 20.
To enter, just let Johan know at training during the week, or until the Thursday next week
Holidays are upon us. Training will go ahead at the dojo on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 for the under 14’s, and 6:45 for the older players. Competition season approaching fast, so let’s keep the momentum going.
See you all there, whether you are from a school class or the usual dojo group.
Training resumes at almost normal levels
We are back to training on Tuesday 2 June, with school classes and dojo classes. Some changes …..
1. Stanmore Bay school classes :
It is confirmed that the school chose to “play it safe” for the rest of the term. Those classes, with
times changing slightly (3:15 to 4:15), have moved to the community hall across the road from the school.
Senior class also moved to Friday from 4 to 5. Short overlap with junior class.
2. Junior Class at NorthCross dojo :
Now combined with Intermediate classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30
3. Senior classes :
Moving to a slightly earlier time slot (6:45 to 7:45) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monday still 6:30.
4. Intermediate and Junior Classes :
Slightly different time slot from 5:30 to 6:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Tough times for us all. Our club will halve the Term 2 Judo Fees for all members who paid full fees in term 1.
We don’t know when we will be allowed to go back to training, but hoping for Monday 11 May – fingers crossed
